As we know that all the mechanical components has to produce with the consideration of various standards. Usually following standards are commonly used by mechanical engineers in industries. 1. American Standard 2. Indian Standard 3. Japanese standard 4. German standard etc. All standard has their own dimension clarification for all types of mechanical elements. So whenever the customer demanding any type of mechanical components has to manufacture as per standard required. Mainly standards are provided in the following fields of mechanical engineering. They are as listed below. 1. Design standards 2. Manufacturing standards 3. Quality control and quality assurance standards 4. Measurement standards To find the standard values of any components like dimension of M6 bolt or standard length of channel section, then every engineer uses the standard mechanical handbooks. Mechanical handbooks are the bible for mechanicals to follow the right path regarding to standards. Some of the mechanical handbook are as listed below. • Machinery’s Handbook by Industrial press • CRC mechanical engineering Handbook • Handbook for mechanical science • Mechanical Engineers’ Handbook by Dan B. Marghitu But to find the data from this handbooks is very tedious and time consuming task for every mechanical engineers because these handbooks have very large amount of data. And also due to human errors, sometimes misinterpretation may be possible. The recent era is of Information Technology and Mobile equipment technology era. So if we are advantaging this new technology in the work of finding the correct data by just clicking the right item from the lists of standard components then it will prove very efficient and fast process. So as we are future mechanical engineers we decide to do this by taking it as our final year project. We decide to make a mobile application of mechanical handbook which give the user friendly approach to find the correct data. Our application can run on Android OS platform because of it is very famous and user demanded OS run in handy devices like Mobile phones, Tablets etc. This will also useful to the new engineers who have not any idea to use various mechanical handbook. FEATURES: • This application has large amount of categorised standard data so that engineers can find their preferable data amongst various standard. • Most usable standards (ANSI, ISO, and DIN) are combined together, so user does not need separate application for separate standard data. • Application has flexible GUI (Graphics User Interface) so that its get easy over surfing in the application without being blind for any user (Engineers). • This application has multiple android device compatibility so that user can run this application on multiple devices. • There is no online connection required to run this application so that user can use it without exclaiming about owning internet connection. • This application is made by developer as freeware so that no payment is required. • Application contains time by time version update facility so that user can find more and more by doing upgrading only. • By the use of this application consumption of time to find the standard data will be decreased and work load will be minimized. • This application will provide the authenticated data directly taken from various handbooks so that user has not to be worried about truthiness of data.
